Clinical and billing information: This page provides general planning information, not medical, coding, or reimbursement advice. Imaging-agent selection and use must follow current FDA-approved prescribing information and facility clinical protocols. Codes are reference examples and may change. Verify the correct codes, documentation, medical necessity, and payer coverage requirements for each exam and date of service. Listing an agent or code does not guarantee local availability, coverage, or payment.

Questions

Imaging agent questions

Can mobile PET/CT support PSMA and amyloid imaging?

SMS supports PSMA-targeted and brain beta-amyloid imaging agents, subject to product and site availability. Confirm the exact agent, scanner configuration, and facility requirements with your regional team before adding the service. Your clinical team determines the appropriate exam and interpretation.

What should our team confirm before adding a PET/CT radiopharmaceutical?

Confirm the exact product, local radiopharmacy supply, patient volume, scan days, and uptake workflow. Review licensing, radiation safety, clinical staffing, and billing requirements with the responsible teams. A supported scanner and an available radiopharmaceutical are separate parts of the plan.

How do tracer deliveries affect a mobile PET/CT scan day?

Coordinate delivery windows with patient arrival, tracer handling, uptake, and scanner availability. Ask the supplier about ordering deadlines and delivery coverage for the actual site. For cardiac imaging, compare delivered FLYRCADO doses with generator-produced Rubidium-82. The supply model affects how your team organizes the day.
