GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK:

Under the general direction of the Regional Operations Manager, with the clinical supervision of the Radiologist at each site on the mobile route, transports mobile medical imaging equipment to client sites along the mobile route and maintains equipment according to specifications. Assists in the completion of examinations on patients.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Transports mobile medical imaging equipment to various sites along the mobile route in accordance with applicable DOT rules and regulations and SMS standard operating procedures.

2.  At each location, set up mobile coach upon arrival and pack up prior to departure, in accordance with SMS and/or manufacturers’ guidelines. 

3.  Completes necessary administrative tasks. ie: time/activity reports, billing, drivers’ logs, and any applicable maintenance, mileage or inspection forms.

4.  Follows preventative maintenance guidelines and ensures proper maintenance of all equipment. Works with vendors and Transportation Team to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical failures.

5.  Assists Technologist with completion of Patient Screening form.

6.  Under the guidance and approval of the Technologist on duty, positions patients on the scanner surface in order to facilitate the performance of the examination.

7.  Transports patients to and from the mobile coach. Maintains patient care, comfort and safety during transport to and from the mobile coach.

8.  Provides images to the facility in the desired site format.

9.  Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of the mobile coach.

10.  Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.

11. Cooperates with facility healthcare personnel and complies with facility policies and procedures.

12.  Complies with all safety policies and regulations.

13.  Performs additional duties as required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High School graduate or equivalent

Special Skills and Requirements:

1.  Ability to drive equivalent to 26’ straight truck.

2.  Prior experience in women's health care is preferred.

3.  Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

4.  Must possess a valid Drivers’ License.

5.  Must possess an acceptable motor vehicle record.

6.  Must pass DOT physical and Drug/Alcohol Screening.

7.  Must be able to understand and comply with the applicable DOT rules and regulations.

8.  Must be able to interact with client personnel and SMS team members in an autonomous, responsible, professional and ethical manner.

9.  Must be able to function effectively in a team oriented environment.

10.  Must be flexible, reliable and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.

11.  Must be able to safely transport patients with or without assistance.

12.  Must be familiar with age specific criteria.

13.  Able to demonstrate competency in all applicable areas.

14.  Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds as well as assist with patient maneuvering.

15.  Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.

16.  Must be willing and able to train and assist other drivers and team members.

17.  Must have basic keyboard/data entry skills.

18. Must have critical thinking and problem solving skills.
